Pamela Dates Weinberger OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pam Weinberger, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many on October 15, 2026.

Pam was born in Newark, NJ on August 8, 1947 to Herbert W. and Doris (Ryan) Dates. She was raised in Georgia and New Jersey, graduating from Livingston High School in 1965. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of South Carolina in 1969, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.

As an adult, she first settled in Ridgewood, NJ and then moved to Hinsdale, IL in 1983, where she established lasting friendships. She was active in numerous organizations including The League of Women Voters, Robert Crown Center for Health Education and Garfield Park Conservatory. She moved to Chicago, IL and continued nursing until she retired from Northwestern University Hospital in 2012, though she remained current on advances in her field until nearly the end of her life.

She is survived by her son Jonathan, and his wife, Lisa Baker of Greenbrae, CA and his father David B. Weinberger of Chicago, IL; her sisters Penny Betters (Paul) of Hendersonville, NC, Joanne Olsen (John) of Scottsdale, AZ, Melissa Schmidt of Richmond Hill, GA and Amy Fletcher (Shaun) of Greenwich, CT; her nieces and nephews Shannon, Ryan, Kristin, Brian, Brenna, Ted; and grandnieces and nephews Caroline, Natalie, Connor, Nicholas and Oliver
