Kenneth Dawson “Kenny” Fairbanks, 79, of Sandwich, formerly of Aurora, passed away October 19, 2026.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and follower of Jesus Christ, Ken shared 54 years with his beloved wife, Dorothy. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.

Ken founded Fairbanks Clock Repair, later USA Timepiece, in 1972. A gifted horologist, inventor, and musician, he was known for his remarkable creativity, wisdom, humor, and unconditional love for his family.

He is survived by Dorothy; children Kirby “Kirk” Rice, Heather (Brian) Hart, Amber Fairbanks, Dustin (Rebecca) Fairbanks, and Darren (Stephanie) Fairbanks; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; and sister Sandra Bell.

A private celebration of life will be held later. Arrangements by Neptune Society, Downers Grove.
