Winfield Police investigating Friday shooting

Winfield Police were dispatched at 9 a.m. Friday to the 10300 block of Nelson Street for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, police located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Later, a woman came to the Winfield Police Department regarding the incident and circumstances, police said.

“This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no identified threat to the public, Winfield Interim Chief Jordan Billups said.

An investigation remains ongoing.
