Several applications to fill a vacancy on the Northbrook Public Library Board of Trustees have been received as the deadline approached Monday afternoon, Board President Carlos Frum said Monday.
The vacancy opened in late June with the resignation of Daphna Neirick, whose work and personal responsibilities have increased, Executive Director Kate Hall said. Neirick finished an unexpired term in late 2012 and was elected the following spring, according to Pioneer Press archives. The new trustee will finish Neirick’s term, which ends in April 2017, according to the library’s application forms.
Frum said he expects that when the Board meets at 7:30 p.m. July 21, members will schedule interviews with the candidates, and choose a new member in August or later. He said Neirick plans to stay on the board until her successor is chosen, but she could not be reached for comment Monday.
