The main reason RedEye covers the Sundance film festival is to connect with a ton of famous faces out in Park City, Utah, and there was no shortage of that this year. In no particular order, here are some of the interview moments that most stand out in my head.

On the one hand, I was disappointed to only get about 30 seconds with Kyle Chandler, who, thanks to “Friday Night Lights,” will forever be a hero. On the other, this was still great.
“New Girl” Hannah Simone was a hilarious, upbeat good sport about everything. And her feelings on pizza were unforgettable. (Stayed tuned for our full interview.)

I knew Gabrielle Union was an experienced activist but was still impressed by the passion and knowledge she had when talking about Chicago (the hometown of her husband, Dwyane Wade).
Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a great interview; gotta love that she busted out this song.
Nobody else on the press line for “The Birth of a Nation” seemed to know anything about R&B singer Maxwell (who wrote a song for the movie). Was fun talking to him about a bunch of things, including this.
I interviewed Tracy Letts more than two years ago. Pretty great that he remembered this:
I was thrilled to ask Molly Shannon this, thrilled that she tried, and thrilled that she got it right.
I still can’t believe Adam Pally and Thomas Middleditch did this. (Stayed tuned for our full interview.)
Sadly this was all the time I got with Kristen Stewart, but there’s no denying her conviction. One of the most underrated actresses out there.
Danny DeVito is spectacular on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” and I got particular enjoyment out of him saying this because, yes, I did once have a cat, and it was a disaster.
