A 43-year-old man told Will County deputies that he was beaten by a Circle K employee after he questioned the price of an item.

The victim told police he routinely frequents the gas station at 12810 W. 143rd St. in Homer Glen to buy beer, cigarettes and lottery tickets. On Jan. 8, he questioned why the price was .75 higher than usual although he put the additional money on the counter. Then, according to a police report, 38-year-old Jeffrey Hartnett pushed the victim, came around the counter and punched him with a closed fist 11 times after he threw the victim to the ground and kicked him twice.

Hartnett, of the 14900 block of Wilco Drive, Homer Glen, was charged with battery.
