A bank teller said the robber passed him a note scrawled on a withdrawal form that read, “Give me all the money you have. No bait money or everybody gets killed.”
The teller gave the man $820 in mostly $20 bills, which the thief stashed in a blue nylon lunch bag, and he then fled on foot through the Marquette Bank parking lot west of the grocery store, 5616 W. 159th St., police said.
They said no weapon was displayed or referenced during the robbery.
Police described the robber as black, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and wearing a baseball hat, dark sunglasses and a white T-shirt.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from Jewel-Osco and TCF Bank.
