Nat Geo Wild is broadcasting a three-part series Friday, Saturday and Sunday, “Is Your Dog a Genius?”

People no longer have to take your word on how smart your dog is. You can offer scientific proof.

Nat Geo Wild is broadcasting a three-part series Friday, Saturday and Sunday, “Is Your Dog a Genius?” (9 p.m. CDT).

The series demonstrates games you can do with your dog, the Dognition Assessment (www.dognition.com), that was developed by host Brian Hare, an associate professor of evolutionary anthropology at Duke University.

The games, and how your dog does, can be turned into a profile of little Stinky. (Cost for all the games is $19 through dognition.com). A dog will be placed in a category, such as Ace, Charmer, Einstein, etc., giving you, Stinky’s proud owner, an idea how he fits into the canine pack.

The show will look at several dogs and their seemingly amazing mental abilities. from learning to reasoning to communicating with their owners. Here’s a link (www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzYjcHw0aoc) to a video of Chaser, a border collie who not only plays with toys, but knows them each by name – and puts them away when playtime is over.
