Four people, including a 16-year-old boy, were wounded Monday in separate shootings on the South Side, the North Side and the Southwest Side, Chicago police said.
In the most recent shooting, a 16-year-old boy was shot at 6:40 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Lafayette Avenue in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side, said police Officer Bari Lemmon.
The boy was walking in the area when he was shot in the lower left leg, police said. He managed to get to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Lemmon said.
Earlier, someone shot a 26-year-old man in the right leg about 4:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of North Beacon Street in Uptown’s Sheridan Park neighborhood, Lemmon said.
The man told police he was standing outside when a red sedan pulled up to him, according to police. An attacker then came out and fired shots, police said.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight said the person was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, and Lemmon said he was listed in good condition.
Earlier, a 28-year-old man was shot at a McDonald’s on the Southwest Side during a gang-related attack, police said.
It happened about 2:50 p.m. at 3867 S. Archer Ave. in the Brighton Park neighborhood, police said.
Paramedics took one person in fair-to-serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Knight said.
The wounded man was approached by two assailants, Lemmon said. One produced a handgun and fired, hitting him twice in the hip, Lemmon said.
Around 1 p.m., an 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.
