Season 3 of “Dancing With the Stars” has had its fair share of controversial, and touching, moments:
– Rumors have spread that some of the professional dancers have hooked up with their celebrity partners. (Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Willa Ford, an unidentified coupling co-host Samantha Harris only giggles about.)
– In Week 3, Monique Coleman (right) had a wardrobe malfunction that exposed her bottom.
– Online critics groused that Lopez has had prior professional dance training.
– Lopez and fellow heartthrob Joey Lawrence got verbal spankings from judges for breaking dance rules.
– Country singer Sara Evans (above) shocked her partner, Tony Dovolani, and everyone else when she quit because she had filed for divorce from her husband, Craig Schelske.
– Jerry Springer’s self-deprecating comments and goofily entertaining dances endeared him to many fans–pushing him all the way to the final five. But that pasodoble costume (left) in Week 6? Ay aay aaay!
– Off the “Dancing” set, but still in the news, beauty queen Shanna Moakler (right) got into a bar fight with Paris Hilton.
– Tucker Carlson (left) dazzled with his skillful chair-sitting routine.
