We had a feeling Jerry Springer wouldn’t make it to the end of ABC’s popular “Dancing With the Stars,” which waltzes into the semifinal round Tuesday. We also expected the Chicago-based talk show host to be gone after the first week. So did Springer.

“Each week I felt like what it must feel like on Death Row,” Springer told Armour & Co. “Except on Death Row, you know what the date of execution is.”

Springer, 62, became a fan favorite–he only went on the show so he could learn the waltz for his daughter Katie’s wedding–and lasted seven weeks before getting the boot.

“The thing turned out totally different than I expected,” he told us. “It turned out to be more enjoyable. But this idea of opening up a chain of dance studios around the country, I’m not going to do that.”
