Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, obviously disappointed with the outcome of Saturday’s 34-31 loss to USC, still moved up in the school record book.

With his 32-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Samardzija in the second quarter, Quinn extended his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass to 11, breaking John Huarte’s 1964 school record of 10.

Quinn also attempted 35 passes, giving him 883 for his career and moving him past Steve Beuerlein, who attempted 850 passes from 1983 to ’86, to second on the all-time list behind Ron Powlus (1994-97), who had 969 attempts.

The 19 completions Quinn had raised his career total to 473, tying him with Beuerlein for second. Powlus leads that category, as well, with 558. . . .

Starting senior fullback Rashon Powers-Neal missed Saturday’s game for an unspecified violation of team rules.
