“We put so much of ourselves on DVD that people expect that you are responsible for every aspect about the DVD,” says director Kevin Smith. “I’ve gotten complaints about the pricing! . . . My call is the content, and even that gets reined in sometimes.”
But even Smith’s most abject failures arrive stuffed to the gills with supplements.
“Clerks X: 10th Anniversary Edition” (Miramax, 1994): Smith’s indie debut gets more bonus features than anyone probably imagined existed on its 10th anniversary edition.
“Chasing Amy” (Criterion, 1997): Kevin Smith gets the Criterion treatment! His commentary was originally recorded for laser disc, which explains his quips denigrating the then-new DVD format.

“Dogma” (Miramax, 1999): The DVD includes deleted scenes that run almost as long as the film itself and the usual chaotic, six-person yack track.
“Jersey Girl” (Buena Vista, 2004): The Ben Affleck bomb gets a great commentary, featuring Affleck and Smith poking fun at one another.
