Notre Dame defensive end Justin Tuck got this advice from new Irish coach Charlie Weis about the NFL draft–“hakuna matata,” a Swahili phrase that means “no worries.” Projected as a late first-round pick, Tuck fell to the third, where he went to the Giants at No. 74, the first Irish player picked. “I’m so excited I really can’t put it into words,” Tuck said from his family’s Alabama home late Saturday night. Although he was a bit disappointed at not being picked earlier, “I get to play with one of the best defensive ends in Michael Strahan, and I’m going to learn from him,” he said. He will fly to New York from South Bend on Thursday. And then, Tuck said, “I’ll be in New York for a while.” Hakuna matata.
