Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn has fond memories of playing Stanford last year in November when the Irish won 57-7.
“I think that game, everything was clicking for us–the running game, the passing game,” Quinn said. “That was a point in our season where we had a few good games in a row. We had some momentum. These are different circumstances. We have our backs against the wall.”
Notre Dame (3-2) must win Saturday against the Cardinal (3-1) to keep its loss total at two. Plenty of two-loss teams have played in BCS games, a fact Irish coach Tyrone Willingham reminded his players.
“Some of them don’t have the memory that I have, don’t have the history that I have,” Willingham said. “So therefore, yes, that’s part of educating them and making sure they are knowledgeable of the total environment.”
