Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Move over, Tupperware, Mary Kay and Pampered Chef. Two more entries to the invite-your-friends-to-shop-in-your-home-party trend have arrived, and the theme for each is help with throwing parties. Each sells a line of private-label food products and bake- and tableware items. We tried, and liked, the food products we tried from each company:

– Chicagoan Jodi Rosen Ablin launched Entertain with Ease! in April. Food and dinnerware products tailored to home entertaining are the focus. All food items cost less than $10, and the tableware stays safely under $40. For information, visit online at entertainwithease.com or call 773-394-3273.

– Market Day, the popular fund-raising business launched in the Chicago area by Trudi Temple, has just created a home party business, Market Day Gourmet. The food products ($5-$10) and kitchen accessories ($5-$20) are designed to complement the products in the regular Market Day line. Proceeds from these parties benefit a school or school-affiliated group of the party host’s choice, or the Reading is Fundamental literacy program. For information, visit online, marketday.com or call 630-285-3377.
