A Chicago company has developed a new resource guide to help small businesses sell abroad.

“The World Is Your Market: Small Businesses Gear Up for Globalization,” which was developed by marketing firm GlobeTrade.com, provides an analysis of small firms that are engaged in international trade.

U.S. small businesses export products worth $300 billion annually, according to the Department of Commerce.

The resource guide aims to help small businesses think through the process of becoming an international company.

“We are not interested in small businesses going global by accident,” Laurel Delaney, the guide’s author and founder of GlobeTrade.com, said in a press release. “We want them to be proactive and push boundaries from day one, when they first open their doors to business.”
