Round 1 rolls the son’s way

Jon Matthews-Edwards had quite an awkward feeling at last Saturday’s Lake Park bowling sectional. The St. Joseph senior and his teammates competed against the host school, which is coached by his father, Greg Edwards. “I was awfully nervous,” Matthews-Edwards said. “I wanted to go to my dad for help, but he couldn’t help me because he was coaching the other team.” Son got the best of father as the Chargers won with Lake Park second. Both teams qualified for this weekend’s state tournament. “My dad was pretty mad around the house,” joked Matthews-Edwards, who sees both schools vying for the title–with St. Joseph “coming out victorious.
