Highland Park wrestler Mike Poeta is in state championship form. Two weeks ago at the Leyden Invitational, the senior 152-pounder had two pins and a major decision. He defeated Conant’s Dominic Marella 20-6 in the title match. He’ll move up to 160 this week to wrestle Lake Forest’s unbeaten Roger Smith Bergsrud and then will likely meet Maine South’s 28-1 Nick Fallico in the Central Suburban League meet the following weekend. “I think I’m set,” said Poeta, who is 28-0 with the individual state championships coming Feb. 21-22. “I just have to keep doing what I’m doing. I’m wrestling real well and that’s what I want to keep doing.”
