Driscoll bowler Eric Caldwell has a quiet confidence. Even though he was one of just two non-seniors in the top 10 of last year’s state bowling championships, Caldwell had no jitters competing with older bowlers. “I was relaxed, because some of my friends were there,” he said. He finished eighth at state with a 230 average in 12 games. “He’s very laid back,” coach Laraine Parker said. “I made more of a big deal about hanging his ribbon at school than he did.” Caldwell, averaging 205, also was a reserve linebacker on the Highland-ers’ Class 4A state title team. His father, Harry, introduced him to bowling when he was 5. “My friends used to chide me about bowling, but they’re older now, so that’s all over.”
