Trader Joe’s has opened its 12th area store, and second in Chicago, on the second floor of 1840 N. Clybourn Ave., 312-274-9733. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Parking is available on Marcey Street, which also has a store entrance.
Supporting family farms
The area’s farmers markets are wrapping up their seasons, but that doesn’t have to mean an end to family-farm products and artisanally produced foods.
LocalHarvest.com, a 4-year-old California-based Web site, has just added an e-market showcasing more than 350 packaged products from 50 family farms; the offerings include honey, preserves and grains.
