player ready...Registration for the 75th annual Chicagoland Golden Gloves Tournament will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Clarendon Park Fieldhouse, 4501 N. Clarendon.
Males and females who want to compete in the amateur tournament must bring either a certified copy of their birth certificate, a passport or proof of citizenship, and a USA Boxing Passbook issued and required by amateur boxing’s national governing body. Those who do not have the Passbook may purchase one on site for $35.
The tournament begins with preliminary bouts March 5-8 in some 72 divisions designated by weight and experience. Bouts will be at St. Andrew’s Gym, 1658 W. Addison. Admission to preliminary bouts will be $8, for the semi-finals March 13-15 $13. For the finals, ticket prices will range from $15 to $35.
