A developer’s proposal to rezone 10 acres to allow a carwash in Wheatland Crossing commercial area met with resistance from many residents at Wednesday’s Naperville Plan Commission meeting.
Naperville-based Macom Corp. is seeking the zoning change. Resident Nick Roseto voiced concerns about noise, exhaust and pollution that could be generated at a carwash.
“We have done everything possible to minimize the noise,” said Macom lawyer Bill Brestal.
Macom has offered to plant trees as a buffer from nearby residences.
The commission will continue its discussion in a workshop session Feb. 6.
