Bob Muzikowski and the Near West Little League in which he is a coach and officer have filed a civil lawsuit seeking to enjoin Paramount Pictures and subsidiaries from public release of “Hardball,” charging that it is defamatory and a false light invasion of privacy.
The plaintiffs contend that the movie distorts coach-player relationships by having a coach shove a player, fouls the language of the 9- to 12-year-olds in the league, and defames Muzikowski by actor Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of him as an alcoholic and compulsive gambler, while claiming the script is based on their true story.
