William Ray Nichols, 52, a business executive from Gallatin, drove to the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora last February, believing he would meet the girl he had been talking with over the Internet and sending pornographic pictures to, police said. But he actually was talking to a Naperville police officer posing as the girl, and Aurora and Naperville police arrested Nichols when he arrived at the mall.
Police said Nichols had been communicating with the detective posing as a girl for four months before arranging the mall meeting as part of a business trip.
Naperville police were among the first in the country to actively seek out potential child sexual predators over the Internet.
