Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
The XFL season kicks off Feb. 3, and here’s what you can expect from the football league that was formed by the World Wrestling Federation and NBC:
– Halfway-decent football. Many players hope to use the exposure to get into (or back into) the NFL. The Chicago team, the Enforcers, includes LeShon Johnson, who rushed for more than 200 yards in a game when he was with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.
– Halfway-clothed cheer-leaders. “They’ll be hot babes. The audience is going to get to know the girls on a first-name basis,” Vince McMahon, sleaze salesman (and WWF and XFL boss), said in ESPN magazine.
– Real blood. Different rules from the NFL means more quarterbacks and kick returners probably will be hurt. Just wait for the lawsuits.
