Sometimes we are too narrow in our thinking about wine. Vermouth, for instance, is a category that receives almost no respect. Watch the bartender, preparing a martini, pour a few drops of vermouth into the cocktail shaker, then pour them out.
Try King Eider, and never again will you take vermouth for granted. Built on a base of Duckhorn sauvignon blanc wine, it has a golden tint and an aromatic bouquet that’s floral and herbal. On the tongue, there are teasing hints of star anise, orange and cinnamon.
Serve it on the rocks or make a King Eider martini (2 parts gin to 1 part vermouth). You also can cook with it, through at a suggested retail of $21 a bottle, you might want to use something else.
