Rose Gray, a 17-year veteran probation officer in the Lake County Courthouse who recently was promoted to supervisor of the court services pretrial unit, has been named court services officer of the year by the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association.

Gray, a graduate of Northern Illinois University, has participated in the development of policies and procedures in cases involving mentally ill offenders, sex offenders and domestic violence perpetrators.
She also has helped develop a training program for new probation officers at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan, where Gray has worked since July 1980.
