A light airplane carrying one passenger was flipped over by strong winds as it taxied for departure from Palwaukee Municipal Airport late Monday afternoon.
Other than a cut to the hand of pilot Steve Bromsom of Evanston, there were no injuries, said a duty officer for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Great Lakes Operations Center in Des Plaines.
The airplane, a Cessna 172, was less fortunate, sustaining “fairly substantial” damage, the FAA officer said. The passenger was identified as Michael Price of Elgin.
