Question: I’m a 50-year-old beginner and I’m having trouble lining up my putts on the green. Any suggestions?
Dennis Troy, Zigfield Troy Golf Course pro and Lewis University golf coach, answers: If you’re a cold beginner and having trouble getting aligned properly, I’d try putting on the kitchen floor or some other floor with right-angle lines. Put the ball down on one of the lines and look at the club and your feet. Start by putting down the lines and get your eyes accustomed to it. On the course, you may be lining up your putts off your feet, and if your feet aren’t square it can throw off your aim.
