Expect lane closures and traffic slowdowns this summer on Greenleaf Avenue around the Illinois Highway 120 bridge near Lakehurst Shopping Center while the bridge is being repainted, Waukegan officials say.

The project requires various lane closures on Greenleaf and likely will continue through Aug. 21.

The state-administered project calls for the repainting of the structural steel portion of the Illinois 120 bridge where it crosses Greenleaf Avenue near the mall’s entrance.

Those who use the thoroughfare regularly should be wary of any impending lane closures on Greenleaf, which also provides access to Illinois Highway 43. All work will be performed during the day. There will be no detours, officials said.
