Question: With all the rain we’ve had in the area this spring, I could use a tip for playing out of wet grass.

Oak Brook Golf Club pro Gary Pinns answers: Most people don’t realize that your feet sink into the ground more when the grass is wet. When it’s soggy, the potential for hitting fat shots is increased. What I recommend is playing the ball a bit farther back in the stance and choking up on the club about a half-inch. Then take your normal swing. Also, when it’s wet, there’s reduced spin on the ball, so you may want to consider using one club less than what the distance calls for.
