A former village trustee who was a member of the committee that oversees the Police Department was sentenced to one year probation and fined $500 Monday after her second drunken-driving charge in two years.
Donna Tuke, 59, of 608 W. Main St., Cary, declined a plea and was placed on conditional discharge by Judge Sharon Prather. The sentence does not require her to report to a probation officer.

Tuke and her attorney, Thomas Loizzo, stood silently while a prosecutor told of Tuke’s arrest on March 25 at U.S. Highway 14 and Three Oaks Road after she sideswiped a car. She failed a sobriety test and registered .18 on a Breathalyzer. She resigned from the Village Board after the arrest.
Tuke, who also was ordered to attend a school for drunken drivers, had been placed on one year’s supervision after being arrested for drunken driving by Fox River Grove police on Jan. 24, 1992, at Illinois Highway 22 and U.S. 14. Because she was accused of drunken driving a second time, Tuke’s driving privileges automatically were suspended for two years by the Illinois secretary of state after the Cary arrest.
