The county moved a step closer toward closing the controversial landscape-waste composting facility on Du Page Airport Authority land Thursday when the joint county-municipal Solid Waste Committee approved the apparent low bidder for soil regrading work at the West Chicago facility.
Meeting in special session, the committee approved the $193,556 bid submitted by G.A. Blocker of Oswego. The measure goes to the County Board next week.
