Jibri Wise One
Jibri Wise One (Ear Candy) (STAR) 1/2
Well, the music is live even if all of the raps aren`t. This album gets its biggest boost from music samplings of such groups as Parliament, the Ohio Players and the Isley Brothers on ”Living in the Life,” which is Jibri`s wisest attempt at mixing his schoolboy rap style with his music. There are some thumpin` jams on his self-titled debut, including ”The House That Dog Built”-and the positive message of ”Sista, Sista” mixed with its new jack swing beat, is happenin`-but the good sampling fails to make it a completely successful rap album.
