B Angie B (Capitol) (STAR)(STAR) 1/2

Aside from a couple of covers (the Emotions` ”I Don`t Want to Lose Your Love” and Chaka Khan`s ”Sweet Thing”) B Angie B`s latest release barely registers on the funk-o-meter. Its uneven mixture of up-tempo dance tracks and ballads never meshes well and the production techniques do little to give her a distinctive sound. ”So Much Love” sets a nice romantic mood while ”I Am B Angie B” and ”A Woman`s Perspective” are not only peppy but deliver a strong feminist message, as well.
