Master Ace
Take a Look Around (Cold Chillin`) (STAR)(STAR)(STAR)
Backed up by a wide-ranging assortment of grooves concocted by producer Marley Marl, the self-described Teacher delivers a sharp verbal tour of his Brooklyn neighborhood and life in general. Touching on poverty, drugs, street crime, education, apartheid and 2 Live Crew, Master Ace examines just about every contemporary topic there is. Armed with an aggressive rapping style and an acerbic wit, Master Ace is able to maintain a perilous balance between dead seriousness and deadpan humor.
