A Guy Called Gerald

Automanikk (CBS) (STAR)

Laid-back New Age jazz is one thing, but laid-back New Age house? OK, maybe it`s not fair to slap labels on something just because it`s unfamiliar, but that seems to be the most appropriate term to describe the latest output from self-described sound designer Gerald Simpson. The mind-numbing drum beats and endlessly repeated synth riffs and overdubs must be this tame for a reason. Surely no one would make something so listless and dull and then expect people to dance to it. Who`s that brazen?
