After 7 (Virgin) (STAR)(STAR)(STAR)
Producers L.A. and Babyface have done it again, this time with a trio that`s two-thirds related to Babyface himself. ”Don`t Cha Think” and ”My Only Woman” are the album`s best forays into the producing team`s realm of smart urban funk. Brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds` real strength, however, lies in their ability as balladeers. ”One Night,” ”Can`t Stop” and
”Love`s Been So Nice” are all transported from the mundane by Melvin`s vibrant tenor and Kevon`s elegant falsetto.
